UPSC ESE 2023 Selection Process :-

Engineering Services Examination will include:

• (i) Phase-I: Engineering Services (Preliminary/Phase-I) Examination (Objective Type Question Paper)
• For Selection of Candidates for Phase-II : Engineering Services (Main/Phase-II) Examination
• (ii) Stage-II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage-II) Examination (Traditional Type Question Paper)
• (iii) Step-III: Personality Test

Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) examination will consist of two objective type question papers and carry maximum 500 marks (Paper I – 200 marks and Paper II – 300 marks).

The Engineering Services (Main/Phase-II) examination will consist of two conventional type papers in Engineering discipline, with a duration of three hours and a maximum of 600 marks (300 marks in each paper). Stage-III will consist of a personality test of 200 marks.
